HMI takes great care in providing exceptional education so graduates will thrive in the fields of holistic nutrition. To help our students succeed, our programs have modules focusing on business planning and development. • Students and graduates of HMI's Nutrition and Wellness Consultant Training Program can join the American Association of Nutritional Consultants (AANC) as Associate Members. Keep in mind, that there is NO licensing of health coaches or wellness consultants., and there is no governmental credentialing in this industry. Schools can choose to belong to one more of the many SELF-REGULATING organizations in the fields of health, wellness and nutrition. But there is no governmental or “sanctioned” certification. In this field you are ONLY as good as the actual education you receive, which is why at HMI Nutrition School, we have a very high proportion of students who have previously spent upwards of $20,000 on other nutrition schools before realizing that what they learned did not prepare them to EFFECTIVELY help guide other people or build a thriving business.

  • HMI is a vocational school that certifies graduates for Holistic Health Coach.

HMI aims to create a sustainable culture of wellness in individuals, in the community, and in our health care delivery systems by promoting a comprehensive and integrative approach to holistic nutrition and Mind/Body wellness.

We are committed to bringing our Holistic Plant Based Nutrition model to an ever wider audience, advocating the use of whole organic food, nutritive herbs, and appropriate supplementation to promote health, restore metabolic balance and hormones, and support recovery from injury and illness. Our unifying philosophy aims to change the way people consume food from convenience to conscious eating.

A university program is academically oriented and confers degrees and titles, such as Registered Dietitian or Nutritionist for someone with a Masters in Nutrition. University programs are more conventional in that they follow the USDA dietary guidelines, are based upon standard dietetic and nutrition texts, and apply guidelines established by major health and medical associations.

It can take several years to earn a conventional college degree, whereas HMI programs prepare you for a satisfying career in nutrition in under one year.

  • There is a translation process from vocational to academic in some cases that allows hours of vocational work completed to count toward credits of academic work. The transferability depends on the policy of the specific university you may wish to attend.

  • At HMI you will study both the human body, and nutrition in depth. You will not just get a cursory review of multiple dietary theories. Our focus is plant based nutrition, scientifically based on 50 years of nutrition research which demonstrates that a predominantly plant based diet is healthiest for prevention of cancer, heart disease and diabetes -- the three biggest causes of illness and death in the modern world. In addition, HMI students have the benefit of personal contact in a group setting with our instructor, as well as personal feedback on all assignments turned in throughout the program. Students may begin the Distance Learning Program at any time with rolling enrollment, or in a new class under Early Enrollment. Although there is no minimum time to complete the program, students may finish in as little as 8 months. Every student works differently, but 5-7 hours per week should be a reasonable commitment for an 8 month time frame. Our Distance Learning option brings the classroom to the student, giving them the flexibility and freedom to pursue in-depth nutrition education on their own time, from their own home, in a way that’s organic to them. Distance Learning is structured, yet flexible, and is perfect for busy people who are independent, self-motivated, and who have a desire to improve the world through holistic nutrition. Knowing that true wellness is a synchronicity of mind/body wellness, HMI's Certification Program goes beyond simply nutrition education and offers classes in Essential Oil Therapy, Raw Food Preparation and "Cooking", Hormone Balancing, Adrenal Fatigue, Weight Loss, and more. HMI also provides extensive business training which covers not only the business building essentials of a modern practice including building a Facebook fan base and other internet marketing essentials, but also goes into the core of abundance: prosperity training that goes far beyond the Law of Attraction.
